Organisation

King George V is a one form entry school. Reception and Nursery work alongside one another in the Foundation Stage. Years 1, 2 and 3 work together as part of the Lower Phase, whilst Years 4, 5 and 6 work together within the Upper Phase. For some lessons the children work in sets within their phase so that their needs can be more accurately targeted, for example Lower Phase phonics groups and Upper Phase maths groups.

Local secondary schools

Most of the year 6 children move on to Menzies High School, however, the school also has links with George Salter High School (in PE). King George V are currently working with Shireland Language College as they begin to make use of the Sandwell Learning Gateway.
